I usually shy away from skirts, especially long ones. Found this in my closet and decided to give it a try. It didn't win me over completely, but I've decided to keep it for now. Meh.
Fashion is not frivolous. It is wearable art that conveys a message and a mood. Clothing, in all its color and textural glory can tell a story, disrupt the peace, calm a soul and ignite a fire. It speaks volumes about the wearer as a nonverbal precursor to an initial conversation. Presentation is everything so express yourself to the fullest degree. DO YOU! And enjoy!

Shreddy McShred
My new staple! Black, top-to-bottom shredded black skinny jeans. Trashy? Yes. Not for the faint-of-heart? Yes. My soulmate in the form of pants? Absolutely, a thousand time YES. They were razored by hand and brought into my life by a blonde girl whose name I do not remember, although I shall never forget her. I wore nude fishnets underneath for a 'barely there' sort of peek-a-boo effect; although some days call for colored tights or metallic leggings instead, contingent upon my feelings of bravery, of course.

Fishnets & Ankle Boots
I got dressed at the very last minute and played it safe in black and gray. Thanks to the raglan sleeves and high waist, coupled with fishnets and ankle boots, I felt a bit sassy even though I awoke with a feeling of general malaise and zero inspiration. Dear basics-with-a twist, you made my day.

Gray Day
Today I wished for a gloomy gray day, and then dressed for it. I didn't get my wish. Instead, I got sparkling sunshine and a robin's-egg-blue sky. Whatever. A girl can dream.
JOHN GALLIANO s/rtw 2010
Galliano's vision for his spring 2010 ready to wear collection was the dismal meeting of early 20th century silent film starlets with the demise of their careers. The runway teemed with smoke and giant bubbles in a collision of beauty, sadness and high drama. Ethereal elements and painted emotions create a mixed bag of mystery and beauty meeting a delicate but tragic end.

Austrian Afternoon
I thought these pics were hilarious and I had to show you guys. I look like some kind of Sound of Music / Marie Antoinette / Peter Pan juxtaposition. Hahahahaa!!
I love that I found an ancient bucket and paintbrush in the bushes while taking these pictures. All that's missing is a squirrel on my shoulder and some accordian music. And maybe a really old bicycle. Ahhhh, the whimsy.
