Acne (Ambition to Create Novel Expressions) has caught my attention in a big way lately. Jonny Johansson's pieces were mostly photographed on Tokyo street style blogs and on Harajuku kids. Most of it was black and exaggerated and architectural, almost like clubwear, but more fashiony. He's been getting a lot of press at fashion week and widespread coverage on the big-time blogs. 'Bout time. I am tempted to compare it to Comme De Garcons, but nothing really compares to that, now does it.?!
The Spring 2010 collection is moving in a lighter, airier direction but still in keeping with the Acne aesthetic.
Ahhhhh, Fresh, Clean, Modern, Strong.
